January 14, 2014 a group of experts from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam visited IMEMO. The delegation consisted of: Mr. Dang Dinh Quy, President, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, Senior Adviser, Office of the President of the SRV; Mr. Tran Truong Thuy, Director, the East Sea (the South China Sea) Institute, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, Mr. Vu Khac Tuc, Expert, Ministry of Finance of the SRV, Mr. Le Hong Tien, Expert, Ministry of Planning and Investment of the SRV.

On the part of IMEMO, the participants included: Prof. V. Mikheev, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, Prof. A.Fedorovskiy, Head of Section of the Asia-Pacific Region Problems, Center for Asia-Pacific Studies, Prof. E. Kanaev, Leading Research Fellow, Center for Asia-Pacific Studies.

During the meeting, issues embracing relations between the key Asia-Pacific actors, regional security challenges, and prospects for economic regionalism were raised and discussed.
