105On April 15, 2026, Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky, Head of the Baltic Sea Region Integrated Research Group of the Center for Strategic Planning of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (History), and Maria Pavlova, Senior Researcher of the Group, Cand. of Science (History), took part in the “Valdai” Club discussion on "Elections in Hungary and the Transformation of Central and Eastern Europe".
In his speech, Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky discussed the reasons of the defeat of Viktor Orbán, the views of supporters and associates of “Tisza” leader Petér Magyar, potential candidates for key positions in the new government.
Maria Pavlova outlined the prospects for Polish-Hungarian relations, as well as the main internal political problems driving the transformation of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
