On December 21, 2023, Peter Topychkanov, Senior Researcher of the Center for International Security of IMEMO, held a discussion with the participation of students and professors of the School of World Politics of Lomonosov Moscow State University within the framework of the Discussion Club of the Chair of Regional Issues of World Politics. The discussion focused on the question: “2023 – a Milestone in the History of Arms Control?”.

The meeting was opened by Elena Chernenko, special correspondent of the “Kommersant” newspaper, member of the Presidium of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, member of the PIR Center Council, and co-chair of the Moscow Nonproliferation Conference. She presented an overview of the main events in the field of nuclear and conventional arms control in the past year.
