On November 16, 2016 by a delegation of the Chinese Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) paid a visit to IMEMO. The Chinese research institution has a history of good contacts with IMEMO experts, especially those specializing in the Asia-Pacific affairs. 

The delegation was headed by CICIR Vice-President Prof. Feng Zhongping. During a meeting with a group of IMEMO scholars headed by the director of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies Prof. Vasily Mikheev, RAS Member, Russian and Chinese experts exchanged views on topical issues of international politics, including the likely impact on security and cooperation in the Asia Pacific of the future change of the U.S. administration as a result of recent presidential elections.
