765The Consultations with the Secretary General of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs Paolo Cotta-Ramusino was held in The IMEMO. Chairman of the Russian Pugwash Committee for the Presidium of RAS President of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and Relations Academician Alexander Dynkin led the event.
The preparations for the upcoming 63rd Pugwash Conference, which will be held (ones in five years) in November 2019 in Erevan, and the results of the meeting between Paolo Cotta-Ramusino and the President of Armenia, which was held on January 23, 2019, were discussed at the meeting at the IMEMO. During the discussion the particular attention were paid to the issues of the restoration of the arms control regime both in bilateral (US-Russia) and multilateral formats and to the nearest and foreseeable consequences of the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty.
