On February 19, 2025, the “Asian Seminar” under the leadership of Academician Vasily Mikheev was held. The topic of the seminar: “China's economic slowdown and domestic political risks”.

Speaker: Sergey Lukonin – Head of the Sector of Economy and Politics of China of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (Economics).

The seminar discussed the main trends in the economic development of the People's Republic of China, socio-economic problems formed during the period of growth, contradictions arising in the process of solving these problems, as well as potential domestic political risks that may manifest themselves in the future with a further slowdown in the development of the People's Republic of China. 

The event was held in a mixed format.
