Alexander Dynkin was elected a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences

On March 30, 2018, the Russian Academy of Sciences elected 12 new members of the Presidium. As a result of the voting of the General meeting of the RAS members, Alexander Dynkin became a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. 1069 people took part in the voting.

According to the voting results, Academicians Alexander Gliko, Alexander Dynkin, Mikhail Egorov, Mikhail Kirpichnikov, Yuriy Lachuga, Andrey Smirnov, Vladimir Starodubov, Alexander Stempkovskiy, Valeriy Tishkov, Vsevolod Tkachuk, Vladimir Fortov and Ivan Scherbakov entered the Presidium. According to the Charter of the Academy, the Presidium of RAS is comprised of the President and the Vice Presidents, the Chief Academic Secretary and no more than 80 members of RAS. The candidates for Vice Presidents and the Chief Academic Secretary are proposed by the President of  RAS. The rest of the Presidium is formed from the presidential quota, as well as from the heads of the thematic Departments and their elected representatives.
