Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAN), convened a seminar-round table discussion on «Developments in North Africa and Middle East: origins and consequences». Besides IMEMO scholars (Georgy Mirsky, Dina Malysheva, Andrey Volodin, Alexander Umnov, Vladimir Pantin, Vladimir Lapkin and others), in the seminar took part Director of the Institute for Oriental Studies, RAN, Vitaly Naumkin, researchers of this Institute, (Boris Dolgov, Irina Zvyagelskaya, Robert Landa, Alexander Filonik), Alexander Shumilin from the Institute for USA and Canada Studies and a number of experts and newspersons. The discussion was moderated by Vladimir Khoros, Head of the IMEMO Centre for Development and Modernization Studies.
