76th session of the Scientific and Practical Seminar "Caucasus in the Past and Present"

On February 16, 2024, the 76th session of the Scientific and Practical Seminar "The Caucasus in the Past and Present (Society and Politics, Economy and Culture)" was held, dedicated to the novelties of the Caucasian study literature.

The Seminar was moderated by Vadim Mukhanov, Head of the Sector for the Caucasus of the Center for post-Soviet Studies of IMEMO, Cand. of Science (History).

Presentations and reports in the framework of the Seminar were made by Vladimir Bobrovnikov, Cand. of Science (History), (Institute of Oriental Studies), Sergey Manyshev, Cand. of Science (History), (IMEMO), Zoya Mahmudova, Cand. of Science (History), (IMEMO), and Maria Tatarnikova (Moscow State Linguistic University), who presented a wide range of book novelties published both in Russia and abroad in 2022-2023. Following the results of the presentations, a lively discussion took place, which was attended by representatives of IMEMO, Institute of Oriental Studies, Institute of Russian History, MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The regular Scientific and Practical Seminar "The Caucasus in the Past and Present (Society and Politics, Economy and Culture)" began its work in 2015. It is organized by the Center for Caucasian, Central Asian and Volga-Ural Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Sector for the Caucasus of IMEMO.
