On October 13 - 14, 2011, the Presidium ofthe Russian Academy of Sciences hosted the 35th meeting of the committees on international security and arms control o fthe Russian Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Sciences. The meeting featured major experts of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO RAN): AlexeiG.Arbatov, Head of the Center for International Security and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Vladimir Z. Dvorkin, Chief Researcher, Major General (rtd). In their remarks on limitation and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons they drew on the research carried out by Russian experts in the framework on the joint project by IMEMO RAN and the Nuclear Threat  Initiative, Inc., titled «Russia and Deep Nuclear Disarmament».
