The 2nd issue for 2026 of the journal “Russia and the New States of Eurasia” has been published. Traditionally, the authors pay great attention to the countries located in the European part of the post-Soviet space. The researchers primarily analyze the events in Moldova-Transnistria region. They focus on Chisinau’s foreign policy and the situation around the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The Russian-Belarusian exercises of May 2026 and the reaction of Western countries to them are also considered.

The article on the prospects for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and its influence on Russia’s integrative role in the Eurasian space. Profound attention is paid to the countries of Transcaucasia, especially Georgia. The researchers examine the political biography of Mikheil Saakashvili, the history of development of Georgian-Ukrainian relations, achievements ang problems of Georgia’s economy in 2025. Moreover, the US policy towards Azerbaijan is reviewed.

As before, the authors focus on the countries of Central Asia. The researchers analyze Washington’s policy towards Uzbekistan, the evolution of Russian-Turkmen relations since 2008, Turkey’s interests in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan’s participation in the Eurasian integration. Attention is also paid to the problems of migration – in the issue migration flows from Central Asian countries to Germany are explored.
