The 13th IISS Asia Security Summit (The Shangri-La Dialogue 2014) convened on May 30 – June 1, 2014 in Singapore. It was attended by some 450 well-known figures representing political and military establishment of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, high-ranking officials and experts in international security.

IMEMO RAN was highly ranked again by the annual “Global Go To Think Tank Index” which was issued on January 22, 2014 by Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the International Relations Program, University of Pennsylvania. The 7th annual ranking of leading analytical centers was officially presented at the United Nations Headquarters Office in New York and the World Bank Office in Washington DC.

Roundtable discussion “Smart power and Transpacific security and cooperation” was held in IMEMO on January 20, 2014. To hold the discussion the staff members of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies were joined by Feodor Voitolovsky, Head of the U.S. Studies Section, and Andrey Ryabov, Editor-In-Chief of the Me-I-MO journal.

Memorial meeting was held at IMEMO on January 15, 2014 to commemorate the centenary of birth of Prof. Yakov Pevzner, an eminent Russian orientalist and economy scholar.

A group of experts from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam visited IMEMO.
