IMEMO RAS, the British Embassy and German Embassy in Moscow organized an International conference on «The Economics of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency: Experience and Opportunities for Business and Politicians». The conference took place at IMEMO RAN. Conference was chaired by Natalia I. Ivanova, Deputy Director of IMEMO RAN, Corresponding Member of RAS, and Doctor of Economics.

Round table «Iraqi Kurdistan today – whether the model of its self-determination is applicable in post-Soviet space» was held at the Center for International Security. The meeting was opened by Alexei G. Arbatov, Head of the Center, RAS Corresponding Member.

Center for Comparative Socio-Economic and Socio-Political Studies IMEMO RAN and Perm State University hold a round table «Methodology for the analysis of socio-political changes and alternatives to the modern development of «alternative capitalism» or the alternative to capitalism?»

Non-governmental experts from the EU, Moldova, Russia, Transnistria, Ukraine, and the U.S. met at the Frankenwarte Academy in Wurzburg, Germany for the first session of the Transnistria Conflict Resolution Task Force (TCRTF), supported by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the Institute for World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the European Union and UN Development Program.

Presentation of an innovative review on Russian Federation takes place at IMEMO RAS. This review was created following the methods of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

 Sixth international conference (the third - in 2011) takes place at IMEMO RAS as part of the project «Russia and the deep nuclear disarmament», implemented jointly with the Fund«Nuclear Threat Initiative, Inc. – NTI» with the participation of Sam Nunn, Senator, Head of the Fund.

IMEMO RAN held the fifth conference titled «Prospects for the Transformation of Nuclear Deterrence» under the joint NTI-IMEMO project «Russia and Deep Nuclear Disarmament». The participants in the discussion raised a wide range of problems related to strengthening strategic stability and security.

A team of IMEMO researchers attended the 2nd Japan-US-Russia Trilateral Conference «Security Challenges in Northeast Asia» held in Tokyo on January 17-18, 2011. The conference was a regular meeting of experts on security issues in the framework of trilateral dialogue coorganised by the Japan Institute of International Affairs, which hosted this conference, IMEMO and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), based in Washington.
