The main provisions of the work of D. Trenin, Director of Moscow Carnegy Center Academic Council, are analyzed. Positive assessment is given to concept of “security community”, as well as to authors’ idea of desirability to suspend NATO’s advance to the East, and temporarily – expansion of the EC. The scientist’s cautious perception of Russia’s Eurasia project is not completely relevant as long as this vector logically complements the recommended Euro-Pacific direction. The forecast of increasing mediatory role of Russia in Asian affairs is described as realistic.
