Abstract. The article deals with the issue of the Westphalian international system structure (the 17th–20th cc.) and its transformation under the influence of globalization (the late 20th – early 21st cc.). A comparative analysis of international relations in these two periods is carried out on the basis of the Westphalian system criteria discovering. As a result, a conclusion on the qualitative transformation of this system is drawn: it has turned from being a balance of power system guaranteeing the sovereignty of states preservation into the institutional-political system of world processes regulation.
