Abstract. The creation of Custom Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as Russia's upcoming accession to the WTO, poses a number of questions that the author attempts to answer in this article. These include: what restrictions on the national trade policy are imposed by the membership in these organizations; what are the effects of Russia's participation in the WTO on the foreign trade management; what regulatory instruments and supportive measures Russia can use without violating its new international obligations?
