Abstract. The next round of the domestic political crisis in Moldova ended on November 14, 2019. The parliament of the republic voted to appoint Ion Kiku, a former adviser to President I. Dodon, as Prime Minister. The resignation of Maya Sandu’s cabinet meant the collapse of the ruling coalition, consisting of the Socialist Party and the ACUM bloc of right-wing parties. The first foreign visit of the new Prime Minister was to Moscow. As a result of negotiations between I. Kiku and Russian Prime Minister D. Medvedev a new price for Russian natural gas was set for Moldova and the issue of Transnistrian settlement was also touched upon. Without cancelling the course towards European integration the leadership of the Republic of Moldova confirms its intention to fully restore ties with Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union.
