Abstract. The article explores humanitarian activities of Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia who are the lead countries in this field among the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Their humanitarian activities are extensive and diverse. They are based on these states’ solid financial resources, coming mainly from their large energy revenues, and on their Islamic background and lead positions in the Islamic world where philanthropy is one of the main duties of Muslims. Development funds, humanitarian aid provided in the framework of international humanitarian cooperation and support to victims and vulnerable populations in armed conflicts are the main directions of these countries’ humanitarian activitie.
