The Fall-Winter issue of IMEMO’s “Pathways to Peace and Security”  journal ( 2 (57), 2019) addresses territorial dispute in the Russia-Japan relations, peace process and armed conflict in Afghanistan through the prism of Russia’s and U.S. approaches, and humanitarian issues, including the problem of Syrian refugees’ return and humanitarian demining of the objects of world history and culture. It also explores political economy, information, and legal aspects of security, by looking at Brazil’s energy security and at the problem of normative assessment of foreign interference through information action, as well as trends in production and development of new weapons technologies, using the case of military unmanned aerial vehicles as an example.
