The first of the three planned international seminars dedicated to the creation of scenarios of the Yamal development up to year 2040 in the context of the climate change in Arctic was held at  the IMEMO on December 7-8, 2017. 

The international seminar “The Russia–USA relations: are there any way out of the impasse” was held in the IMEMO. The speaker was Director of the Atlantic Council’s Strategic Foresight Initiative (the USA) Mathew Burrows.

The seminar «The general elections in Japan – 2017: the prognosis of changing» dedicated to the situation in Japan on the eve of the lower house elections will be held in the IMEMO. There will be considered such relevant problems as the future development of Japan in the spheres of internal policy, economy, security and the relations between Japan and the leading foreign policy partners including Russia.

The seminar «The issues of the international security in the context of the Russia-USA relations» was held in the Conference-hall of the IMEMO. The seminar was opened by  President of the IMEMO Academician Alexander Dynkin.

The seminar «The future of the BRICS: a view from India» organized together with Center for North American Studies (CNAS) and the Center for International Security (CIS) was held in the IMEMO.

The seminar dedicated to the discussion of the work “The mass prosperity. How the grassroots innovation have become sources of jobs and new opportunities” of Nobel Laureate Edmund Phelps was held in the Department of Science and Innovations. Natalya Ivanova led the seminar.
