IMEMO RAN held the eighth conference in the framework of the joint project Russia and the Deep Nuclear Disarmament implemented in cooperation with the Nuclear Threat Initiative, Inc. The conference was titled «Interconnection between nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation: reality or myth?» IMEMO RAN also presented a brochure with the same title.

07/15/11 SIPRI Yearbook 2010
IMEMO RAS presented the Russian edition of the SIPRI Yearbook 2010 «Armaments, Disarmament and International Security» and the report titled «Prospects for the Transformation of Nuclear Deterrence», prepared in the framework of the joint project implemented by IMEMO RAN and the Nuclear Threat Initiative, Inc. (NTI).
The participants in the ensuing discussion raised the most pressing issues of ensuring international and national security, nuclear deterrence after the end of the Cold War and the process of arms reduction and limitation.

01/18/11 The conference «Security Challenges in Northeast Asia»

A team of IMEMO researchers attended the 2nd Japan-US-Russia Trilateral Conference «Security Challenges in Northeast Asia» held in Tokyo on January 17-18, 2011. The conference was a regular meeting of experts on security issues in the framework of trilateral dialogue coorganised by the Japan Institute of International Affairs, which hosted this conference, IMEMO and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), based in Washington.
