ANNOUNCEMENT
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS
«THE CHANGING WEST AND ITS ROLE IN GLOBAL REGULATION»

The Council of Young Scientists of IMEMO is pleased to announce that the International conference of young scientists «The Changing West and its Role in Global Regulation» was held on April 11-12, 2019 in Moscow, Russia at Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO). The conference is organized jointly by IMEMO, Institute of Europe and Institute for US and Canadian Studies of Russian Academy of Sciences.

We invited researchers holding Ph.D, Cand.Sc. and Dr.Sc. degrees or post-graduate students exploring political and economic issues in the countries of the West and the Western role in contemporary world economy and international relations to participate in the conference. Working languages were Russian and English (for non-Russian citizens), the participation was intramural.

The format of the conference was a moderated discussion based on the abstracts of reports, prepared by the participants. The discussion covered topical issues concerning following key challenges and possibilities for the development of the global economic and political system in the XXI century:

  • Evolution of the West as a collective political and economic player;
  • Current political and economic relations between the Western states;
  • Western influence on the non-Western world;
  • Transformation of the current world due to the Western influence.
