The Journal “Russia and New States of Eurasia” is aimed at a comprehensive study of the processes occurring in the post-Soviet space in terms of the Russian strategic priorities. The focus of the published articles is to analyze the challenges and problems faced by the Russian state and the business community in their relations with the newly independent states.

The development of the situation in Eurasia is considered by the authors of the Journal taking into account the entire complex of processes taking place in the economy and internal political life of the CIS countries and the Baltic states. Moreover the authors of the Journal are interested in the economic, political and social problems of these countries primarily to the extent they affect the national interests of Russia. Also a subject of research by the authors of the Journal is the effect of the third countries (USA, China, EU countries, etc.) on domestic and foreign policy of the CIS states. The authors of the Journal articles are IMEMO researchers, employees of other research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and independent research centers, scientists and officials, including from the CIS countries. The Journal reflects a wide range of opinions of researchers from Russia and the newly independent states. The list of thematic sections of the Journal includes sections that involve analysis of internal political processes, economic and social problems of the CIS countries and the Baltic states, the interstate relations, process of Eurasian integration, religion in the newly independent states, problems of migration, security issues, problems of conflict resolution in the post-Soviet space. The Journal also publishes proceedings of scientific conferences and round tables held in IMEMO and devoted to processes taking place in the post-Soviet space.
