Abstract. Britain as a global leader in the sphere of development and implementation of international aid programs and one of the largest donors tries to adjust its humanitarian policy to the new environment. The UK not only uses its solid experience gained during many years of implementation and development of humanitarian programs, but also introduces innovative approaches. Britain’s humanitarian programs are also in line with its strategic interests both in political and economic spheres. These programs have become the “visiting card” of UK’s “soft power” and aim at enhancing Britain’s image as the biggest international donor and influential international actor.
