The Center for Middle Eastern Studies (TsBVI) conducts a series of scientific seminars dedicated to the memory of the famous Russian orientalist Arabic writer G.I. Mirsky. In the course of the discussions, significant issues related to the current development of the Middle East, its main trends and prospects are discussed. Along with this, general theoretical questions are touched upon as applied to specific regional problems.

The 1st issue for 2021 of the journal “Russia and New States of Eurasia” has been published. The issue opens with the articles devoted to the problems of post-Soviet integration – the researchers analyze the 30-years history of the CIS and evaluate the prospects of development of the EAEU.
