The regular scientific and practical seminar "Caucasus in the past and present (society and politics, economics and culture)" began its work in 2015. Its organizers are the Center for the Study of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Ural-Volga Region of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Section for The Caucasus of the CPSS IMEMO.

The goal of the seminar is to discuss current issues in modern Caucasian studies, present the latest archival and field research, and establish closer contacts between specialists in the Caucasus. The seminar is intended as a platform for analyzing the problems of the development of the Greater Caucasus both in retrospect and in the future. Seminar.
