At the present time Center for European Studies (CEI) researchers investigate current trends in European integration and the EU’s role in world economy, analysis of actual economic and socio-political issues in individual European countries (Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic and others), study of the Russian economic ties with European states.

It has opened a new thematic section, "Great Britain facing modern challenges," which publishes articles on the United Kingdom's defense policy; on the factor of right-wing populism in British politics; and on the impact of global climate change on UK policy in the post-Brexit period.
