Irina Svistunova, PhD in History, is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Middle East Studies of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO). Irina graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

She is the author of papers on foreign policy of Turkey, history and contemporary issues of Russia-Turkey relations, as well as on non-muslim groups and sociopolitical processes in Turkey.
