Elena Kharitonova graduated from the Russian State Universities for Humanities (RSUH) in 2000. In 2001-2014 she worked in Russian and international organizations, including five years as a Head of a unit in the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Has professional experience and knowledge in the areas of international development, social and cultural project and events management, security, international communications etc.
In 2014 Elena got enrolled in the IMEMO postgraduate programme and in 2015 joined the Department of International Politics; in 2023 joined the Center for European Studies.
Interests: «soft power» in a national foreign policy, international development and foreign aid, international organizations, national image and identity, interethnic relations and conflicts.
