Vasiliy Kuznetsov, Doctor of Science in History, Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of Center for Arab and Islamic Studies, and a Leading Research fellow at the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO).

A participant of a number of international working groups on the MENA region. Vasily Kuznetsov has published extensively on political processes in the Arab world, historical memory, historical consciousness, and national identity formation in Maghreb countries; theoretical aspects of political transformations.
