Taking into account the increasing importance of energy industry for the world economy, IMEMO formed a Center for Energy Research (March 22, 2006).
Field of research:
- energy security of Russia in the context of globalization and its geopolitical and economic advantages in the world energy: theoretical and methodological aspects;
- various aspects of the impact of energy on the world development, and on the development of Russia;
- the latest trends in the development of the world energy market and Russian energy market;
- energy projects: development of energy resources, construction of oil and gas pipelines, formation of transcontinental Eurasian energy systems.
