About the Publication

This yearbook issued by IMEMO contains both information and analytical materials. Its analytical surveys and articles deal with the problems of the world economic development and modern international relations. The publications depict the diverse and contradictory nature of the modern world and analyze the most important events and major trends in the global development, as well as in the development of individual countries and regions. Among the subjects covered in the yearbook are processes and trends in different branches of the world economy and problems of the global and national security. Considerable attention is given to the complex process of socio-economic reforms in Russia and the country’s integration into the global economy, as well as to economic reforms and modernization processes in the foreign countries.

Among the contributors to the Year of the Planet are researchers from IMEMO and other leading research centers of Russia, politicians and representatives of the business community, which makes it possible to provide a broad spectrum of opinions on the topical problems of the world economy and politics.
